Family Constellations

Systemic Constellations is a tool which helps us explore our relationships and understand how patterns and dynamics in our system may still be an influence in our lives. It may help us to understand how experiences, beliefs and emotions of our ancestors can still be alive in us today.
  • It clearly shows us how the past can keep influencing the present in patterns we have inherited from our families. We are in fact not as free as we would like to believe.
  • It helps us to see with new eyes, with an open heart and a clear mind situations that might be holding us back from achieving our personal goals.
  • It invites us to honor our ancestors, accept where we come from in order to walk with strength towards our future with a renewed sense of peace and harmony.
  • It focuses on the bond between family members and not on relationships. This is an individual style of work, between the client and facilitator and in group settings, other participants acting as representatives for the client. It is a type of work that looks to mend bonds that might not be healthy in order for them to be a source of strength and healing instead of pain.
  • It requires us to come with an open heart, as it is an act of courage to leave aside our stories, our judgements, as well as our fears, in order to embrace others with acceptance. Only including everything and everyone just the way that it is/was, can bring the person strength and peace to go freely towards their life.

Sytemic Constellations is a tool that centers in observing how the family system functions around a certain conflict with the use of representatives. It does not require work with the client’s actual family, but instead other participants who will stand as representatives in the case of group constellations. With the help of the representatives, the facilitator will guide the client towards a “solution” to the problem they bring forth.
In the case of Individual Constellations, we use figurines or markers as representatives to look at the conflict with new eyes granting the client a new perspective. This works well for people who are not interested in working in a group setting. This kind of work can be done both in person or online and it is just as effective.
